Walt Disney Classics Collection is releasing a Walt Disney World® Resort exclusive as part of a special signing event on Thursday, September 08, 2005.  

The sculpture is based on the original model sheet used in animating Figment for the Epcot® attraction. David Pacheco himself worked on animating Figment for the original animation for 'Journey into Imagination' which opened in 1983.

Sculptor Bruce Lau, who sculpted the Figment piece, will be on hand for a signing appearance.

This limited edition Figment sculpt will be available at the "One Little Spark...A Morning with a Purple Dragon" event happening on September 8, 2005. It will also feature a companion Jumbo Pin (edition size of 250 pictured at left) that will be exclusively available for Event Guests only.

Event Admission is $150.00 per person

Remaining Figment product will then be made available at the Art of Disney, Epcot® gallery for an afternoon public signing session Bruce Lau (park admission required).  

The Walt Disney Classics Collection 50th Anniversary sculpture featuring Donald, Daisy & Nephews in Donald's jalopy ("Family Vacation") will also be made available for purchase and artist signing as well as all other Walt Disney Classics Collection sculpts that Bruce created which are available in the gallery. In addition, the Walt Disney Classics Collection 50th Anniversary sculpture of Walt with Mickey ("Sharing the Vision") will be made available for the first time in the galleries (see below).  

Special Note: Since Bruce did not sculpt this particular piece, it will not be able to be signed by him.

  • After the conclusion of the artist signing event (3:00pm EST), remaining Figment sculptures will be used to fulfill Wish List requests.
  • Should any pieces remain after fulfilling Wish List requests, they will be made available at Walt Disney World® gallery locations until sold out.

WISH LIST:

Guests who do not register for the event can add their names to a wish list to purchase on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to availability. Guests can start adding their names to the Wish List on May 9, 2005 by contacting Walt Disney Event Services at 407-827-7600. The piece will not be available through Walt Disney World® Resort Mail Order; guests should contact Event Services on or after May 9th to inquire about the wish list.

Any unsold pieces of Figment from "One Little Spark...A Morning with a Purple Dragon" will be offered at the Epcot® Art of Disney on September 8, 2005. Park admission is required. (should quantities remain) Wishlist orders will than be fulfilled on a first-come-first-served basis.

Unable to locate the Walt with Mickey sculpture ("Sharing the Vision")?

A possibility is through Walt Disney Event Services in Florida (407-827-7600).  Request to be placed on the wish list for the event scheduled for Sept 8th at Walt Disney World® Resort (not register, just be placed on the product wish list).

Walt Disney World® is holding their full allocation of Walt with Mickey until the Sept 8th event. That is, these sculptures will not be offered in their gallery locations until after Sept 8th after first fulfilling registered event guest demand.
