The doll-like children (pictured above and below) are composed of porcelain
and the accessory items (Eiffel Tower, Coconut Tree and Gondola) are composed
of resin. Both the child sculpture and the accessory will be packed together
in one gift box. For the introductions of the Disney's "it's a small world"
after all sculptures, all new packaging has been designed featuring artwork
reminiscent of the original attraction and new Certificates of Authenticity.
The Disney's "it's a small world" after all sculptures will be available
as both a limited edition of 300 of each as part of the 2003
Celebration of Walt Disney Art Classics convention and
an open edition release. Each of the 300 sculptures will bear a
special backstamp featuring the "Disney Adventure on the High Seas" logo.
The special backstamp pieces are exclusively available through Walt Disney
World.
The open edition sculptures without the special convention backstamp
will be available as a regular release at the 2003 Celebration of Walt Disney
Art Classics convention at Walt Disney World Resort and the Disney Cruise
Line and Disney theme parks worldwide in May, and will then be made available
to other Gold Circle dealers in August.
The 300 that are available at the convention will not be matched as a numbered
set. Each will have the convention backstamp and be available as a limited
edition of 300.
The emphasis on Disney's "it's a small world" after all is on the attraction
"it's a small world" and more specifically, the creative inspiration of David
Pacheco. No particular sculptor has been assigned to this project, since
more than one sculptor has been involved.
